Seeing a need for luxury B & B accommodation in the Dungog Shire Carol Skafte Zauss opened Curlew Cottage in May, 2014. With a recent award of 9.5 on booking.com Curlew Cottage has achieved nothing but excellent reviews and recommendations. The well-appointed cottage offers everything for guests together with current up-to-date information on all events and activities available to visitors to the Dungog Shire.
This is a lovely B& B and exactly what people coming to explore the area would love. The attention to detail and quaint country feel is perfect. Carol deserves recognition for going above and beyond to enhance any visitor’s experience of the Shire.

Curlew Cottage is an award winner for a third year in a row!

Guests’ comments and ratings on the Booking.com site have meant that for a second year running the Cottage has received 9.5 out of 10.

Spring has arrived

Well, we have received the first of spring rain in the last week or so and the countryside is taking on some of those beautiful shades of green and dams are filling up. Dungog has been luckier than the Upper Hunter but we know the summer ahead will be hot and can still cause great devastation. Activities start to decrease as we approach the summer months but walking in the cooler climate of the Barrington Tops is pleasant and should not be missed. The rivers have been topped up with this rain and there is nothing like cooling off with a picnic on the Williams, Paterson or Allyn on a hot afternoon.
